I will always remember the first day I had entered through the huge iron gate of Shri Shikshayatan with a lot of apprehension and fear. Today it seems as if the years had passed by in a flash of a second. That day I had no inkling that I will be spending my entire professional life in this institution. I was a hostelite when I was 16 and retired as a teacher of this institution at 60. Shri Shikshayatan turned out to be the reason for my existence. As a student of Shri Shikshayatan College. On a full moon night, it was my passion to stand quietly in the balcony on the third floor of our hostel building to observe the campus .The whole campus looked enchanting and ethereal as the silvery rays of the moon bathed it. Those nights were magical... I joined the school as a teacher and this brought a great change in me. My identity of a Shri Shikshayatan teacher defined my life. I realized that I was going to be a nation builder and remembered the words of Lon Watters “School is a building which has four walls with tomorrow inside it.” I thank God and consider myself to be privileged to have been associated with Shri Shikshayatan School for so many years. I agree with Henry Adams “A teacher effects eternity, he can never tell where the influence ends.”

I was the Head Girl of the esteemed Shri Shikshayatan School of the batch 1988- 1989. Whatever I have achieved in life I owe to my school. Shri Shikshayatan School taught me that knowledge is the most powerful weapon to change the world. It taught me how to fight odds, be optimistic and practice endurance. Truly speaking my school imbibed in me the ability to dream.

Shri Shikshayatan School and College will always be very special to me. I have endless and beautiful memories. I also enjoyed in the college which is on the same premises. The amazing environment and awesome friends made the journey smooth. I can still feel the care and love of my adorable teachers. An innocent child became a well behaved and responsible person only because of my “great school”. I shall always cherish the time spent there.
