My Message

Shri Shikshayatan College, a unit of Shikshayatan Foundation made a humble beginning on 8th July 1955 with 28 students in Humanities only. The College today has about 4300 students covering several streams both at the UG and PG level.
The vision of our Founding Fathers and the Present Management has evolved the College into an institution forming the basis of exceptional empowerment of women.
Since last 15 years there has been an effort to shift from just educating the girl students to making them future ready. With this objective a variety of job oriented courses and Post Graduate Courses have been introduced apart from a myriad of Co-curricular activities.
The motto POWER TO HER has propelled our College into a preferred institution of choice. It is now a coveted academic brand to reckon with. NAAC accreditation with Grade A in 2009 and 2016 stands testimony of the dedicated efforts of all the different stakeholders.
As recommended by NAAC, the College is in the process of putting in place a modern and well-equipped Bishnupur Campus with emerging courses to be known as Shri Shikshayatan College - Bishnupur Campus.
Recognising the impact of using technology in Education, the College is extensively using technology enabled processes both for academic and administrative functioning way ahead of other colleges in Kolkata.
Lecture Capture Solution has been introduced by the College for recording and live streaming of lectures along with a recall facility for the students. This facility has successfully rendered a smooth and uninterrupted teaching - learning process in these pandemic times from the comfort of their homes.
The unique journey of Shri Shikshayatan College continues and strives to cross many more milestones.
